People seek counselling for a wide range of reasons. It is not uncommon to experience periods of depression and anxiety; these are natural responses as we grow and make changes in our lives. Sometimes we require extra support due to feeling perplexed, overwhelmed, or simply stuck in a rut. Counselling is often about personal growth and working to gain a clearer sense of what you need or want from life.

For some, counselling is sought after a traumatic event or an unexpected change in life that has caused distress and uncertainty. Other times we may need to deal with an on-going situation that has become a source of constant stress. Whatever the situation, we will work together to make sense of what is happening and find a way to move forward.

How I work

My approach is integrative, strengths-based and collaborative. I tailor approaches to suit each client’s unique needs. Theoretical orientations such as Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Psychotherapy, Attachment Theory, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, Multicultural Therapy and additional emergent research in neuroscience all inform my practice.

As a trauma-informed therapist with a holistic lens, I consider a person’s mind, body, spirit, and emotions in the healing process. Somatic psychotherapy is a holistic therapeutic approach that considers the body to be a healing resource, thus, mind-body practices complement traditional talk therapy. An anti-oppressive approach acknowledges that humans are impacted by larger social, environmental, and cultural factors and works towards mitigating their affects.

Above all, I respect that you are the expert of your own life. It is important that you find our work together useful. I will check in with you to see how the process is going so we can course correct as needed.

Psychedelic Integration Counselling
